[T]his camera is all about working a little more slowly to get beautiful detailed images with high dynamic range, and in all kinds of ways it's still a lovely camera in its own right with wonderful weatherproof build quality, [...] and striking images.

  • The SL3 is another high quality Leica camera, with excellent ergonomics and excellent results. It is big, heavy and expensive, but if something more compact is required then Leica do offer their classic M11 and M11-P cameras, or perhaps the Q3.

The SL3 is Leica's best full-frame mirrorless all-rounder so far. It combines incredible build quality, a refreshingly minimalist interface, and a 60MP sensor with phase-detect autofocus.

If you’re not on any form of budget and want a full frame camera that takes outstanding photos, regardless of the lighting conditions, I can’t recommend the Leica SL3 enough. Although bulky, the SL3 is delightful to handle thanks to its chunky grip and great ergonomics.

After shooting with this camera this morning and of course you guys watching the video up to this point, it should come as no surprise when I tell you that this is one amazing camera.

If you want the benefits of a high-resolution sensor, the choice of some outstanding glassware and undisputed quality, the Leica SL3 could be the perfect choice. This is one test camera I hated to return, and I have now added the SL3 to my wish list for a future acquisition.

The SL3 delivers so compellingly in the real world that, as I said at the outset, we've ordered two, knowing full well that the first iteration of any new—well, anything really—will require fine-tuning.

So after 3 and a half months of ownership, I can still recommend this camera even with its quirks, and I can do that because I know Leica stands by their products and I know Leica will continue to update the firmware on this camera.

The Leica SL3 is a true evolution from the predecessor. From the sensor to the screen, everything has been upgraded with this camera in a manner that really speaks to what a modern mirrorless solution should feel like going into especially that upper tier of imaging tools.

[T]he SL3 is a much more compact experience, so if you don't like M glass, I think it's a no-brainer, even though you can adapt Leica glass to any camera, you're going to be very happy with the compatibility of this body with some of the Leica glass [...]
