- DPReview 81/100
Our early impressions of the X-A7 were overwhelmingly positive and now that we’ve spent time shooting with a production model of the camera we are happy to say that this is in fact the best entry-level mirrorless ILC that Fujifilm has released.
-
When we reviewed the X-A5 in 2018 we came to the conclusion that it was a good option for first time mirrorless buyers, however it wasn’t without its pitfalls.
-
The Fujifilm X-A7 gives pretty much everything you could want from an entry-level mirrorless camera. There's a 24mp APS-C CMOS sensor, 4K video recording, and usefully a large 3.5inch vari-angle touch-screen.
-
Judging it on image quality alone reveals a capable performer, but it’s hard to get over the handling issues, lack of a viewfinder and high price for stills shooters - vloggers are encouraged to take a look though.
-
If we were to judge the X-A7 on the basis of the pictures that it takes, then we would highly recommend it.
-
The Fujfiilm X-A7 packs a lot of camera power into a small form factor. We've little bad to say about its image quality—it may not have the latest and greatest sensor, but it holds up, and offers loads of good-looking JPG options, plus Raw capture for more serious photographers.
-
The X-A7 has some pretty impressive specs for an entry-level camera, and has the performance to match, with a significant improvement to the camera’s autofocus performance over its predecessor.
-
The X-A7 has a brilliant design, oodles of fun, advanced features and good overall quality, but it faces stiff competition from Sony's mirrorless cameras.
-
The Fujifilm X-A7 is a perfect camera for entry-level photographers, in that it provides a perfect solution for those wanting to improve their photography game.
-
I'm not sure about that; its small size and weight along with its extensive auto and manual capabilities make it an all-around useful camera for stills and video for yourself and for whatever other subjects you fancy.
-
If you are traveling and looking for a lightweight solution or a beginner camera to start off from coming from a smartphone, the X-A7 is a great camera for that.
-
The X-A7 is a good overall entry-level mirrorless camera. The newly developed contrast-based autofocus system and the 3.5-inches flip touchscreen are the biggest upgrades when compared to the predecessor.
-
It is a great little starter camera for stills and video.
-
While the learning curve is steep, for the price and the performance, I’d say it’s definitely worth powering through those issues.
-
The Fujifilm X-A7 clearly has its strengths, and is squarely aimed at beginners and vloggers; but, the end result makes it a tricky one to recommend.
