None of this is enough that you should avoid the Canon T7i / 800D. In fact, for a $750 camera, it’s about what you would expect – which is to say, quite good.

  • The Digital Picture

Take the excellent, higher-end Canon EOS 80D and pack many of its core features into a smaller EOS Rebel-sized body and... you essentially have an EOS Rebel T7i / 800D.

  • The Canon EOS 800D offers a significant upgrade to the 750D, and we’re pleasantly surprised by the improvements made in handling, design, and focus speeds, both in live view and normal shooting modes.

  • Digital Camera World

The EOS 800D’s features offered little to complain about at the time of its launch, but they look weaker today, mainly because of its lack of 4K video. Otherwise, it’s responsive and versatile, and the image quality is good.

It might be a little old in the tooth, but the EOS Rebel T7i / 800D remains a solid choice for beginners looking to step up from their smartphone or point-and-shoot camera.

The T7i isn’t a groundbreaking camera. It’s an improvement over the T6i, but it’s really more of an update than an improvement.

If the T7i can handle air racing, it can definitely handle your kid’s soccer game – and the latter is where it was really meant to shine. The Rebel series has always been about documenting family memories while helping budding photographers grow their hobby into a passion.

This is a strange time for SLRs. Compact system cameras have overtaken them for performance and video capture, and they’re generally on a par for image quality, controls and ergonomics.

I've had a really, really good day shooting with this Canon EOS Rebel T7i (800D); it is absolutely brilliant. That autofocus, particularly for video, is a game changer, I think, with a camera at this price point.

  • YugaTech

The Canon EOS 800D is a worthy successor to the 750D that further improves on its strengths and weaknesses alike. It has a better sensor, a newer image processor, faster autofocus, and a longer battery life.

I think that if you're in the under $500 budget range, go for the Canon EOS Rebel T7i (800D), especially if you want to get into the Canon ecosystem of the EF lenses and all that.

  • PC-Tablet Media

It is definitely a smaller build than most DSLRs, which could be a big bonus if you like to travel or walk around with a lighter camera, and if you are an up and upcoming blogger, then this is going to be a great companion for you guys.
