Panasonic kicked off its celebrations of Lumix’s 25th anniversary in May with the launch of the Panasonic Lumix L10. The company is now gearing up to host a series of events across major global cities, including New York City.

The new “Lumix Collective” is a series of events designed to bring Panasonic Lumix creators, photographers and videographers alike, together for workshops, hands-on experiences, and “inspiring conversations.”

“A HUGE thank you to all Lumix fans around the world for being part of our journey over the last 25 years,” Lumix writes on Instagram. “To celebrate this milestone, we’re excited to introduce Lumix Collective, bringing Lumix creators together through special community events around the world.”

The first Lumix Collective event is scheduled for November 17 in Manchester, England, followed by events in Sydney (November 20), Berlin (November 21), São Paulo (November 24), Milan (November 25), Paris (December 4), and New York (early December). Registration for the European events is available now. Additional registration options will be available soon.

“We can’t wait to celebrate 25 years of Lumix with you,” Lumix continues.

Over in China, Panasonic Lumix has a very cool 25th anniversary website, where the company takes deep dives into significant Lumix models since 2001, Lumix’s heritage, and Panasonic Lumix color science.

Panasonic notes the very first Lumix camera, the LC5, released on October 27, 2001. It also notes 2002’s Lumix FZ1, 2003’s FX5 and FX1, 2004’s FX7, 2006’s FX01, and 2006’s TZ1.

It was 2008’s Lumix G1 that perhaps made the biggest mark on Lumix’s history, though. It was the first interchangeable-lens Micro Four Thirds camera and the first traditional interchangeable-lens mirrorless camera overall, not counting the Epson R-D1 or Leica M8 rangefinders.

The GH1 the following year ushered in a new era of portable filmmaking, while the 4K-equipped GH4 in 2014 took things up a notch.

In 2019, Panasonic launched the S1 and S1R, the company’s first full-frame mirrorless cameras. Equipped with the L-Mount, the Lumix S series has been a big hit for Panasonic since.

There’s also a story dedicated to the special Celebratory Titanium Gold Edition of the new Panasonic Lumix L10 camera. The L10, Panasonic’s 255th Lumix model, draws heavily on the very first Lumix camera, the Lumix LC5.
