Nanlite’s New PavoSlim LED Panel Lights are Super Thin and Lightweight

Nanlite’s new PavoSlim series of LED panel lights offer impressive power in an affordable and incredibly slim and lightweight package.

The new PavoSlim lights come in four flavors that include the 72-watt 60B 1×1 Bi-Color LED panel, 72-watt the 60C 1×1 RGBWW LED Panel with CRMX, the 150-watt 120B 2×1 Bi-Color LED Panel, and the 150-watt 120X 2×1 RGBWW LED Panel with CRMX. Each version of the new panels feature an incredibly lightweight and thin design that is built around a metal housing for improved heat dissipation. The control units have been made separate from lights in an effort to further reduce the size and weight of the light-panels which are only 0.73 inches (1.86 centimeters) thick and weight just two pounds for the 1×1 models and just under four pounds for the 2×1 models.

The PavoSlim B series of lights offer users a color temperature range of 2,700 to 6,500K and the C series RGBWW versions offer a little more range with 2,700 to 7,600K color temperatures as well as the ability to match other lights using the Cyan-Magenta controls. Each light can be powered directly using AC or by battery (NP-F and/or V-Mount versions depending on which version of the light) which makes them a possible option both in a studio and on location. Additionally, each light comes with a custom softbox with grids and a 1.5 and 2.5 stop diffuser that the company says can be assembled in just seconds.

Nanlite says the new PavoSlim LED Panels have a CRI rating of 95 to 97 and are capable of outputting light up three times brighter than other competing models in its class tested at 5,600K at one meter, returning the following results:

  • PavoSlim 60B: 8156 lux (757.7 fc)
  • PavoSlim 60C: 7074 lux (657.2 fc)
  • PavoSlim 120B: 17620 lux (1636.9 fc)
  • PavoSlim 120C: 12830 lux (1191.9 fc)

In addition to controlling the lights directly through use of the attached control unit, users can connect wirelessly through a variety of options including over Bluetooth using a free Nanlink app for iOS and Android, a handheld remote control, or transmitter box which is ideal when working with larger setups.

Each PavoSlim light comes with several built-in special effects, (12 for the bi-color and 15 for the RGBWW panels), and users have the ability to create custom effects and save them as presets using the Nanlink app.
