KEH is Opening a Brick-and-Mortar Location in Atlanta
KEH, the camera re-commerce company known as one of the largest online resellers of cameras and photography equipment, has announced it is opening a new brick-and-mortar retail store in the Atlanta area. The company plans to hold a grand-opening celebration on November 5 and 6.
The company has been in business since 1979 and previously operated a Midtown Atlanta retail location. However, the company says that in recent years, it had shifted focus primarily to its online business. But now as more camera stores across the country started closing their doors for good, KEH Camera says that it feels the need for a physical location to cater to what it describes as the dynamic photographic community that it had seen a rise.
The company’s President and CEO, Jon Safran, looked to address this void by creating a space where photographers can get their hands on gear while having the opportunity to speak about it with experts and fellow camera lovers.
“KEH is committed to providing the photography community at large with high-quality, certified pre-owned camera gear, or as we call it—gear with soul,” says Safran. “Especially for our local Atlanta market, we wanted to go beyond what everyone else is doing, and offer up a place for photographers to meet up, share ideas, and exchange gear in a space that is unlike traditional camera stores. A place geared to offer the best possible service—which is exactly what we would want, because, after all, we’re photographers too.”
The company says the new storefront will serve its overall goal to better support the photography community by offering direct access to the entire 60,000-plus items in its online inventory. The retail space will also serve as a location to pick up those online orders, drop off repairs, as well as a place for customers to sell or trade-in their old gear. In short, KEH’s Atlanta location will operate as a near-perfect replica of its online experience, except with all the benefits of an in-person experience.
The new KEH store is set to open its doors on. November 5 at 10 AM at 5080 Highlands Parkway SE, Suite B in Smyrna, Georgia.
