Sigma 14-24mm f/2.8 Art Lens Coming Soon: Report

The next lens in Sigma’s highly acclaimed Art series will be a 14-24mm f/2.8 wide-angle zoom lens, according to a new report.

The Japanese camera site Nokishita published a set of photos of the lens today and is hearing from “overseas sources” that the official announcement will happen in the coming days.

The lens is said to have 17 elements in 11 groups, a 9-blade circular aperture for smooth bokeh, a maximum magnification of 1:5.4, and a weight of 1,150g (~2.54lbs).

Pricing and availability information has yet to emerge, but just for reference, Sigma already has a similar Art lens — a slower one in the Sigma 12-24mm f/4 DG HSM. The Sigma 12-24mm f/4 has a price tag of $1,600, and this new 14-24mm f/2.8 lens would provide an extra stop of light while being ever-so-slightly less wide.

The Sigma 12-24mm f/2.8 will reportedly be offered in Canon, Nikon, and Sigma mounts when it’s out. Stay tuned.
