Nikon 28mm f/1.4 Lens to Be Unveiled This Week, Reports Say

Nikon is reportedly gearing up to launch a number of new products this week, and one of them is said to be a new Nikkor 28mm f/1.4 lens.

Nikon Rumors writes that the lens will most likely be officially unveiled sometime in the next 48 hours, as Nikon doesn’t announce new gear on Fridays.

The new lens will be a higher end option at 28mm compared to the current Nikkor 28mm f/1.8G, which costs $697.

“I expect the new 28mm f/1.4 lens to be over $1,000,” Peter of Nikon Rumors writes. The Japanese camera site Nokishita Camera is reporting that the lens will cost ¥240,300 in Japan, which converts to about $2,168.

Nikon is also said to have a new Nikkor AF-S 8-15mm f/3.5-4.5E ED fisheye lens (¥148,500, or ~$1,300) and Nikkor AF-P DX 10-20mm f/4.5-5.6G VR lens (¥40,500, or ~$360) ready for announcement this week. Stay tuned.
