The camera has found its way into all kinds of products over the past couple of decades, from the phone in your pocket to the car you drive around. One of the latest everyday products to adopt a camera is one you’ve probably never thought would have one: the toothbrush. The Prophix is a new $400 toothbrush that has a built-in camera for capturing images of your teeth and gums.

Created by dentist and entrepreneur Dr. Craig S. Kohler, Prophix has a built in HD camera that can shoot 10 megapixel photos and 1080p video.

The live view is also beamed to your phone wirelessly via Bluetooth and Wi-Fi, allowing you to see where you’re brushing and frame what you’re shooting.

In addition to helping you not miss spots while cleaning your teeth, you can use the camera and the companion smartphone app to log photos of your mouth to see how your oral health is changing over time.

The toothbrush costs $400, about twice the price of leading electric toothbrushes on the market, but early adopters can currently pre-order the Prophix for $299 from the product’s website.
