Are you a wildlife or sports photographer with a whole lot of cash just burning a hole in your checking account? Well, you’re in luck, because according to Nikon Rumors, there’s an updated version of the Nikkor AF-S 400mm f/2.8G ED VR lens in the works.
NR hasn’t gotten ahold of a specific announcement date just yet, but the rumor site is certain this lens is on the way (hence the term ‘confirmed’) and will arrive sometime before the FIFA World Cup in June.
The new version is said to boast fluorite coatings, Nikon’s Sonic Wave Motor (SWM) and a price tag of at least $500 more than the current lens, which sells at B&H for $9,000 (and is currently backordered).
