I Shot These Sci-Fi Photos in Subway Tunnels

What do you find when you search for Copenhagen on popular photo sites? Generally it's Nyhavn, the 17th-century waterfront and entertainment area. But not only that: to my surprise, I also found some cool science fiction subway shots taken out of the subway system.

‘Time Lapse’ is a Sci-Fi Thriller About a Camera That Photographs the Future

If you're a fan of both photography and science fiction, here's a movie you can add to your queue of things to watch: "Time Lapse." Released earlier this year, the film is about a mysterious camera device that shoots Polaroid pictures that show the future.

"Three friends discover a mysterious machine that takes pictures 24hrs into the future," the movie's synopsis reads. "They conspire to use it for personal gain, until disturbing and dangerous images begin to develop..." You can watch the 2-minute trailer above.

Photos of Giant Science Facilities That Look Straight Out of Science Fiction

Scientists around the world create massive and elaborate facilities for carrying out groundbreaking research. Photographer Enrico Sacchetti is a guy who specializes in capturing them on camera. He's a "science, technology, and industrial" photographer based out of Rome and London, and his images have appeared in many of the world's top science and technology magazines.

Grounded: An Eye-Popping Sci-Fi Short Filmed Using Canon DSLRs

It's mind-blowing what can be created these days using ordinary DSLRs, a small team of people, and a whole lotta skill with visual effects. The short film above, titled "Grounded", was emailed in to us by its creator Kevin Margo, who works as the visual effects supervisor at Blur Studios. He says that it was inspired by his father, who passed away from cancer. Here's the synopsis:

One astronaut's journey through space and life ends on a hostile exosolar planet. Grounded is a metaphorical account of the experience, inviting unique interpretation and reflection by the viewer. Themes of aging, inheritance, paternal approval, cyclic trajectories, and behaviors passed on through generations are explored against an ethereal backdrop.

It was shot using a Canon 5D Mark II for 24fps footage, a Canon 7D for 60fps footage, and the Canon 24mm, 50mm, and 135mm prime lenses. The software used in post include Vegas, PFtrack, Zbrush/Vray/Max, Fusion, and AE/MagicBullet.
