My Experience with the Peak Design Travel Tripod

The Peak Design Travel Tripod. Let's just get it out there: it's $600 for the carbon fiber model. That’s a lot of money. You can buy less expensive tripods that are objectively better at a lot of things that this tripod does. The main selling point is that it's light and packs up tiny, so it’s less of a burden to use when you’re traveling.

DPReview: Canon EOS R5 Overheating is a Problem in Real World Use

When Canon released the EOS R5 and EOS R6, they made it clear right away that both cameras were thermally limited when shooting 8K (R5) or oversampled 4K (both) video. But what does this mean for real world use? DPReview has now tested both cameras, and their conclusion is unfortunate for Canon fans who hoped that overheating concerns were made up or overblown.

Wedding Photographer Reviews the Nikon D780

These are my thoughts on the Nikon D780 after shooting a 9-hour wedding with one in London in February of 2020. I had it for 3 days, so this isn’t an exhaustive technical review; I’m not going to dissect it or pixel peep, just report on my impressions as a full-time wedding photographer who normally uses a couple of D750s.

Now, after two continuous years of real-world use and testing, he's finally gotten around to sharing his thoughts in a thoughtful review that will be a huge help to any extreme macro photographers who are considering this lens.

Nikon 105mm f/1.4 Review by a Working London Photographer

I have already seen a few posts about the new addition to the Nikon prime lineup, the Nikon 105mm f/1.4, but don’t worry, this isn’t just another review with lots of graphs and pictures of brick walls. Just a few thoughts on my first impressions on the new Nikon 105mm f/1.4 from a working event photographer in London.

iPhone 7 Plus Camera Review: iPhone JPEG vs iPhone RAW vs Sony A7R II

As a full time professional photographer, I try to remind people that the best camera you have is the one you have with you. Since I have yet to permanently graft a DSLR onto my body, my best camera is often my iPhone. So, is the new iPhone 7 Plus good enough to help alleviate the anxiety I get every time I leave my camera at home? Let’s find out!

Field Test: Bird Photography with the Canon 7D II and 300mm f/2.8 II

I'm a hobbyist bird photographer and I recently went birding in the Himalayan foothills in India, to a town called Sattal. For the trip, I rented a Canon 7D Mark II, 300mm f/2.8 II, and 2X TC III teleconverter. My own equipment is a 7D and 100-400L, both of the first generation.
