With the Thypoch Simera 75mm f/1.4, you get some character but also a solid performance out of this plucky little lens.
-
I think the Thypoch Simera 75mm f/1.4 ASPH will find an audience among photographers who like a more tactile shooting experience again, like Leica M-mount camera owners, and who are looking for images with character rather than pin sharpness.
-
If I was to buy a fast 75mm M-mount lens today, this is certainly the one I would be getting.
-
[T]he Thypoch Simera 75mm f/1.4 ASPH deliver an interesting modern vintage image in a well-built, compact, and light housing for an excellent price.
-
[O]verall, I am extremely satisfied with these lenses.
-
The Thypoch Simera 75mm f/1.4 is a lens that rewards those of us who love working with fast telephoto primes. It offers a modern take on the classic portrait lens – sharp but soulful, precise but expressive.
-
The way I see it, this is the best value and performance-based 75mm lens you can get for the M-mount system today.
-
Of all the 75mm M-mount lenses I’ve shot — the Kipon 75mm f2.4, the Voigtlander 75mm f1.5 — the Thypoch Simera f1.4 is the best built and the most capable wide open. That’s my take after several weeks on the M11.
-
If you're a portrait or model photographer or say weddings or anything where you need a bit of arty swirly bokeh, a fast lens for say low light photography, this lens is fantastic.
-
Yeah, it's just a very solid lens.
-
It's got this vintage yet modern vibe to the lens, which I think they balanced out beautifully on this.
-
I think it's just a really, really, really good lens, a lens that is definitely to go in my bag, especially for weddings and portrait kind of stuff when I'm especially using the M system to be a little bit more discreet.
-
[O]verall, in terms of my shooting experience, I honestly absolutely really like the lens.
-
[F]or my money this is the best portrait lens that you can buy right now for the Leica M-mount, and it's really giving Voigtländer some heat.
