If I have to conclude I have to say that the Sony FX3 is a very nice camera produces gorgeous images, very sharp, very nice. Same capabilities, exactly like the Sony a7s III minus the EVF but plus the active cooling system.

It is an A7S III in a better video-orientated body, but who's it for? It could make a great B cam for people who are already filming with the FX6 or FX9, but this could be a good camera for a solo shooter.

The Sony FX3 is a surprising entry in the Cinema Line, but it's awesome to see the marriage of cinematography ergonomics and functionality to the smaller size of a mirrorless still camera.

In the end, sony made a robust 4K video camera with the FX3. The stabilized sensor and incredible autofocus features help you keep your world smooth and tack sharp.

I think that Sony did a good job with this camera and rather than asking why does this camera exist, we should be asking why does the Sony A7S III exist.

The Sony FX3, it's really interesting. This is the first true mirrorless filmmaker first camera that I've seen from Sony, whereas the A7S III, even though the guts are the same, it's still a photographer first camera.

When I bought this camera, I wanted a camera that I knew would last the next five or maybe even 10 years without feeling that pressure to upgrade to the next big thing. And I'm glad I chose this camera because it is literally just that good at what it does.

I think it's the camera I will replace my A7 III with, and this camera appeals more to me for video and film than the A7S III does because it's still that mirrorless camera trying to be a cinema camera, but there's just a few things about it that wouldn't work.

When I originally bought the FX3 I expected it to be a great camera and that I would like it. But for me, something really clicked with this camera in a way that I didn't expect.

I'm not going to say them because they're a mouthful and I'm probably going to stumble, but I'm just gonna say one thing: everything that comes out of this camera is gold. The video looks fantastic as you would expect from a Sony cine camera.

The Sony FX3 is still an exceptional choice in 2026, especially when you shop used (wink). If you’re searching for a small camera that meets your filmmaking needs, it’s tough to beat this thing.

The FX3 is a camera I will be getting primarily as a complement my FX9. It fills in a couple of gaps and will give me a B camera when I need to shoot two angles at the same time.
