The EF-M 55-200mm delivers good image quality in a small, light, inexpensive package that mounts natively to EOS M bodies.
-
All in all the EF-M’s lone telephoto option at the moment is at least a good one. It is very compact, has a great focal length, is nicely built (despite the plastic lens mount), and delivers excellent image quality.
-
You could take it around anywhere with you, so for handiness value alone it's pretty recommendable.
-
There’s little point investing in one of Canon’s dinky little EOS M system cameras if you need to hang a big hefty lens off the front.
-
The Canon EF-M 55-200mm f/4.5-6.3 IS STM is small and light, but it doesn't capture as much light as similar lenses for SLRs.
- Photo Review 8.8/10
Despite being relatively slow at its longer focal lengths, the EF-M 55-200mm f/4.5-6.3 IS STM lens is small and light and relatively inexpensive. It delivers good centre sharpness but suffers from edge softness.

The Canon 55-200mm is a tiny tele with reasonable performance.
