Godox’s New $85 Flash Works With Nearly Every Camera Brand

Godox has announced the TT350II Thinklite TTL Camera Flash, a new version of the compact, versatile TT350 the company introduced nearly a decade ago.

As reported by Photo Rumors, the Godox TT350II Thinklite features a more compact body, a new hybrid shoe design, an HD color display for adjusting and monitoring settings, a built-in LED modeling light, and, of course, compatibility with Godox’s expansive 2.4 GHz Wireless X System.

The new hybrid hot shoe design is quite interesting. It features a precision multi-contact design, ensuring a single flash works with multiple camera brands. The TT350II supports Canon, Nikon, Fujifilm, and OM System/Panasonic cameras, while a separate TT350II S model works with Sony camera bodies. The new mount is not quite universal.

The TT350II’s upgraded HD color display shows key functions and settings with sharp, easy-to-read text and color coding. Below the display are numerous physical controls, including four buttons and a function dial. The original TT350 had only a monochrome display, like the one on the top of old DSLR cameras.

The flash head can tilt up 120° and down 7°, and rotate 0 ° to 270° side to side. It promises more even flash distribution than before. It works alongside various accessories thanks to an optional magnetic adapter ring, like a snoot, honeycomb grid, diffuser, bounce card, and color gels.

The built-in modeling LED on the front of the flash unit helps with focusing in low-light environments and lets photographers preview the lighting effect before taking the shot.

With its built-in Godox 2.4 GHz Wireless X System, the TT350II works as both a transmitter and receiver in one, pairing with other Godox ecosystem products like flashes, studio strobes, and more. The wireless system supports transmission up to nearly 100 meters (328 feet). The new flash also has a USB-C port for future firmware updates.

The TT350II supports a wide range of expected flash functions, like TTL auto flash, manual power controls, high-speed sync (HSS), front-curtain sync, rear-curtain sync, and stroboscopic effects.

In terms of flash specifications, Godox’s new on-camera flash covers 24-105mm focal lengths and has an approximate guide number of 36 (m, ISO 100). That’s 118 feet, by the way. It delivers approximately 210 flashes with two AA batteries (2500mAh NiMH batteries) and can recycle at full power in as little as 2.5 seconds (2500mAh NiMH batteries). The flash duration ranges from 1/600s to 1/25,000s.

Pricing and Availability

The Godox TT350 II Thinklite TTL flash is a relatively affordable on-camera flash for photographers. It costs just $84.90, well below first-party flash options from major manufacturers. Godox’s new flash is available now.
