Coachella Festival Will Stream Live in 4K on YouTube for the First Time
YouTube will stream Coachella live in 4K, allowing viewers to switch between multiple stages, and even follow a vertical feed shot on Google Pixel.
The three main stages: the Coachella Stage, the Outdoor Theatre, and Sahara, will each get the 4K streaming experience, according to a report by Digital Trends.
The Quasar stage will get a dedicated vertical livestream, shot on Google Pixel, as well as a standard horizontal feed. The Pixel has a feature called Connected Cameras, which allows users to link to other Pixels or other cameras and livestream them.
There will also be a Multiview feature, allowing music fans to stream up to four stages at one time and pick which audio feed to have on. It’s a nifty feature for fans who want to follow along on their television.
“YouTube and Coachella share a unique ability to bring artists, creators, and fans into one space to create and celebrate culture. We’re honored to extend that sold-out festival experience to a global audience by livestreaming the incredible music and special moments to fans everywhere,” YouTube writes on its blog. “Whether you’re hosting a watch party or tuning in on the go, this year’s Coachella on YouTube experience is more immersive than ever—tailored for however, and wherever, you want to watch.”
Since it is hosted on YouTube, there will be a “Watch With” feature for the second weekend of Coachella, letting fans watch the shows with popular YouTube creators, including Valkyrae who will be watching Katseye, while Terry and Kaniyia will be watching Karol G.
YouTube advises fans keen on this experience to set their notifications on Coachella’s YouTube channel. Or download the Coachella Livestream app, available on Android or iOS.
“The countdown for Coachella 2026 is officially on so set your reminders for Friday, April 10th @ 4 PM PT / 7 PM ET on Coachella’s YouTube Channel now – see you next weekend,” says YouTube.
Coachella festival takes place over two consecutive three-day weekends. The headliners this year are Sabrina Carpenter, Justin Bieber, and Karol G. Tickets sold out within a week of the festival’s announcement, so YouTube is the only place many will be able to watch.
