ProMaster’s 9-Inch Chroma Tube LED is Full RGB and 600 Lux Bright

ProMaster announced the TL9RGB Tube LED, an affordable $60 handheld wrap-around RGB light that’s compact, wireless, and gets as bright as 600 lux.

Designed to work through ProMaster’s Light Attendant App, the company says that the hand-held nine-inch tube light creates wrap-around illumination with a “unique appearance,” especially when it is placed close to a subject. It has multiple modes including variable intensity 360 color RGB, 2500K to 8000K Bi-Color CCT, and 19 “fun” special effects. ProMaster claims the quality of the light is excellent with a TLCI rating of 98+ and a CRI of 95+.

ProMaster says the LED “produces soft lighting and shadows in portraits, macro work, and still life studio images.”

It features a built-in magnet that allows it to be attached to metal surfaces but also has a 1/4″-20 threaded ports on either end of the tube to attach to a light stand, flex arm, or other similar gear and even ships with a metal cold foot so it can be mounted on a camera, too.

Due to its small size, another use case is — perhaps obviously — light painting, which ProMaster shows in the images below:

The ProMaster Chroma TL9RGB is charged via USB-C and the company says a fully charged battery will power the light for a little over an hour (specifically, one hour and five minutes) at 100% output. ProMaster adds that it will maintain its brightness setting without dimming for the entire duration of its runtime as well.

The ProMaster Chroma TL9RGB Tube LED Light joins an ecosystem of ProMaster lights that can, as mentioned, be controlled from the company’s Light Attendant app which is available on Android and iOS. ProMaster says that it is part of a set of lights that can be programmed to work together via the app and allows it to be used in a studio multi-light setup in addition to being used on its own.
