Rode Unveils a Bunch of New Audio Equipment and Streaming Solutions

In what Rode describes as its “biggest product announcement ever,” the company is updaing the Wireless GO II and RODECaster Pro II and introducing seven new products including the Streamer X, RODECaster Duo, and PodMic USB.

Wireless GO II Firmware Update

According to the company, the upcoming firmware update for the Wireless GO II will unlock more features for what it claims is “the most feature-packed compact wireless microphone system available.”

These features include saving onboard recordings as WAV files and well as the ability to stop or start recordings using the transmitter or receiver power buttons. Rode says that new camera models will also be added to the camera preset feature.

A new RØDECaster Pro II deck firmware update will enable wireless microphone connectivity. This update will allow users to connect any RØDE Series IV wireless transmitter, including the Wireless GO II and Wireless ME, for recording wireless audio directly to the RØDECaster Pro II. The company claims this feature is “worlds-first,” increasing the versatility of the deck.

Streamer X

On to new stuff and not just updates, the Streamer X is a new product that combines a professional audio interface and video capture card in a compact console.

It features studio-grade audio inputs for various devices. It offers 4Kp30 and 2Kp60 streaming and up to 2Kp120 and 4Kp60 pass-through for video quality in multiple applications, which puts it into a resolution and framerate tier that is rarely — if ever — reached by other capture cards.

It also features two USB-C connections, four customizable “SMART” pads, and compatibility with RØDE software solutions aim to expand functionality and flexibility.

RODECaster Duo

The new RODECaster Duo is a compact, all-in-one audio production solution for podcasters, streamers, musicians, and content creators. Rode says it offers the same features and versatility as the RODECaster Pro II, but does so in a more compact and portable form factor.

PodMic USB

The PodMic USB is a versatile, broadcast-grade dynamic microphone for podcasting, streaming, and content creation. It offers the same sound quality and form factor as the PodMic, now with XLR and USB connectivity.

The PodMic USB features a range of next-generation features, including a Revolution Preamp, high-quality analog-to-digital conversion, advanced DSP, and compatibility with smartphones and tablets for on-the-go use.
