ON1’s Sky Swap AI is Now Available as Standalone App
ON1’s impressive sky swap technology is now available as a standalone app. ON1 Sky Swap AI enables photographers to use artificial intelligence (AI) to quickly enhance or replace a sky without using ON1’s full photo editing app, ON1 Photo RAW.
ON1 Sky Swap AI 2023 uses AI to automatically detect the sky in a photo and generate an accurate, precise mask. Once the mask is generated, the user can replace the sky using a built-in library of 231 skies, 125 of which are created by OcuDrone. OcuDrone’s 125 skies are in 8K UHD resolution with smooth horizon lines for easy transition and blending. Users can also add their own skies to the app.
Users can change numerous aspects of the new sky, including opacity, edge fading, and shifting the edge up and down. New skies can be blended into existing skies or completely replace them. It’s also possible to flip or rotate a new sky, making it easier to match the ambient light in a scene.
“Sometimes you don’t want to replace a sky completely; you want to blend in some additional clouds, for example. Sky Swap AI gives you everything you need to blend a new sky realistically with an existing one,” ON1 says.
ON1 Sky Swap AI goes beyond replacing skies. It also affects the rest of the image to maintain realistic, natural-looking results. The app automatically matches the foreground color and tone to match the new sky. Users can manually adjust the color as well.
The app also includes tools to create adjustable reflections when a photo includes water, like a lake or sea.
If photographers want to simulate a long exposure image with a new sky, that’s also available in the app. Users can adjust the blur amount and blur angle.
Beyond the sophisticated sky adjustment and replacement tools, Sky Swap AI also features local adjustment tools to burn and dodge, adjust color, sharpness, and more anywhere in an image’s foreground. The editing tools also include options for cropping and removing distractions like dust spots.
ON1 Sky Swap AI 2023 is available as a standalone app and plugin. The plugin works with Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom Classic, Photoshop Elements, Capture One, Affinity Photo, Corel Paintshop Pro, and Apple Photos. Sky Swap AI works on macOS and Windows. ON1 Sky Swap AI 2023 is available now at a special introductory price of $29.99, a $10 discount compared to the regular price. The purchase includes a lifetime license, all 2023 version updates, and activation on two computers.
The app is also available as part of ON1’s “Everything” plan, a subscription service that includes all its applications and plugins plus 200GB of ON1 Cloud Sync storage. That subscription starts at $89.99 per year, with a “Plus” version offering more storage, more license activations, and an ON1 Plus Membership for $179.99 per year.
