Instagram Stories Have a New Look on Desktop
Instagram is rolling out a new design for Stories on desktop to make the feature more immersive and easier to navigate. Users will be able to view stories in full-screen with a carousel containing previews of already-played and upcoming Stories.
This smaller redesign helps further flesh out the desktop version of Instagram, which has long taken a back seat to the service’s smartphone and tablet apps. While consuming Instagram content on desktop has gotten more and more polished over the years, creating new posts on desktop still isn’t officially supported (though you can do so using special tricks or apps).
Other tweaks made to Instagram’s desktop Story viewer in recent days include a size increase and additional controls (play, pause, and mute).
