Man Taking Pictures Gets Slammed by Hurricane Irma Wave

As Hurricane Irma barreled toward the Florida panhandle this past weekend, some people ignored warnings to flee or find shelter and decided to go out and shoot photos of the approaching storm instead. The short video above shows what happened to one man who did this at Florida’s southernmost point.

This location in Key West is also the southernmost point of the continental United States, and one that is constantly being livestreamed online by a number of livecams.

The unfortunate man in the recording was pointing his camera at the violent waves when one large one crashed onto shore and knocked him over.

Here’s an 8-hour recording by this same livecam showing many different people trying to capture their own photos from this point:

Luckily for the man and all the rest of these people, there doesn’t appear to have been any serious accidents and injuries.
