Some jokester has put up a listing on eBay for a DIY version of the new Leica M-P “Correspondent” edition. Carrying a €33,000 (~$35,300) price tag, the unusual camera kit comes with an ordinary Leica M6 and a small square of sandpaper.
In case you missed it when it was announced last month, the new “Correspondent” M-P is a $24,500 limited edition Leica rangefinder designed by Lenny Kravitz. It’s a distressed camera that has been artificially aged by hand to look like it has been used for many years already.
So, if you’d rather pay an extra 10 grand and artificially age a Leica yourself with sandpaper, you could make some witty photographer very happy by buying his DIY kit.
