Thorough Tutorial Teaches You How to Fix Common Hair and Skin Issues in Portraits

Michael Woloszynowicz of Vibrant Shot is back with another share-worthy and thorough tutorial, and this time he’s showing you how to fix some of the hair and skin issues that tend to crop up in portraiture.

We won’t try to summarize a 28 minute tutorial in text, but suffice it to say that Woloszynowicz uses a technique referred to as frequency separation to touch up the photo and fix those issues mentioned above.

And just in case you’re not familiar with what ‘frequency separation’ is, he helped write an in-depth tutorial on that as well, so there’s no need to fret. Just carve out some extra time for honing your retouching skills this evening.

For a thorough rundown of what it is he’s doing in the video above, you can read a detailed account of his process in this blog post, but at nearly 30 minutes long, the video goes into plenty of detail itself.

So enjoy this heady dose of post-processing education, and let us know if there’s anything more you would add by leaving a comment down below.
