Sigma Unveils the 20mm f/1.4 Art, The World’s Widest f/1.4 Lens
Sigma today announced the new 20mm f/1.4 Art lens, a new full frame lens for Canon, Nikon, and Sigma cameras that’s the world’s widest full frame f/1.4 lens.
The lens contains 15 elements in 11 groups, with a design and coating that minimizes flaring, ghosting, field curvature, and aberrations. A Thermally Stable Composite compound is used for the body, which helps the lens perform at extreme temperatures while making the lens both small and lightweight (5.1 inches long and 33.5 ounces).
Using Sigma’s USB dock, photographers can adjust and calibrate the lens, as well as update it with new firmware releases when they become available.
Other features of the lens include a Hyper Sonic Motor (HSM) for quick and quiet autofocusing, a 9-blade aperture for creamy bokeh, a tough brass bayonet mount, a minimum focusing distance of 10.9 inches, and a maximum magnification ratio of 1:7.1.
The Sigma 20mm f/1.4 Art will be available in late November 2015 for Canon EF, Nikon F, and Sigma SA cameras with a price tag of $899.
