God Made A Photographer: A Spoof of the Chrysler Super Bowl Commercial

Chrysler hit a home run this past Super Bowl with its photographic “God Made a Farmer” commercial… so let the spoofs begin. Photo backup service Mosaic create the parody above titled “God Made a Photographer.”

And on the eighth day,
God looked down on his planned paradise and said,
“I need a documenter,”
so God made a photographer
God said, “I need someone willing to get up before dawn, deal with models,
work in Lightrooms and darkrooms, work with models again, eat supper,
and then go to town and stay past midnight at a wedding,”
so God made a photographer.
“I need someone with arms steady enough to hold a camera,
yet gentle enough to focus,”
so God made a photographer.
God said, “I need someone willing to sit up all night editing a new shoot,
know that 98% aren’t any good, then dry his eyes and say, ‘Maybe next year’,”
so God made a photographer.
God had to have someone willing to travel
to the ends of the Earth at double speed
to get the shot in ahead of the golden hour,
so God made a photographer.
Someone who’d bale a family together
with the soft, strong bonds of sharing,
who’d laugh and then sigh and then reply with smiling eyes
when his son says he wants to spend his whole life what dad does,
so God made a photographer.

Sheesh. Couldn’t they afford a microphone? The background hiss kind of kills this for me.

  • Kim P

Not bad. A lot of great pictures. Just isn’t the same without Paul Harvey’s voice.

  • Lubyanka

God maybe let down the aforementioned photographer by failing to make an audio specialist.

    Oh well.

“Deal with models, deal with models again”

    I chuckled.

  • Samcornwell

I think that was added post, intentionally mimicking the ‘God Made a Farmer’ video.

Thanks for posting this spoof. Nice way to start the day!

The script didn’t have the poetic of the original, nor did it make photographers seem all that special. Lots of potential here, but I think they fell short.

  • Zack

    Wasn’t it a Dodge commercial?

  • Jake

Dodge is a division of Chrysler.

  • Jim Felt

Just as long as we don’t have to talk to an empty chair like the last guy Chrysler used.

  • Jd Fischer

Gewat!! Some reallyl neat picts, but you have some just a good. Love you, M

  • Peter

I have no idea who made this, but it needed a writer, not a photographer.
