Funny (But Sad) Test of Photographers’ Rights in Germany

German satire program Extra 3 conducted a humorous — albeit disconcerting — experiment testing photographers’ (and videographers) rights in Germany. They had an actor use a camera at different “sensitive” government locations, doing the exact same things (e.g. film the locations of security cameras) but dressed in two different outfits — first as a European tourist and then as a Middle Eastern man. The result shows that how law enforcement deals with cameras is largely determined by common prejudices.

Thanks for sending in the tip, Felix!

Extra 3 isnt testing out photograper rights in this video. But the chances for potantial terorist to get importen Security information!

I think the whole why do we think middle eastern young men are terrorist more likely then say a European woman. Just look at the statistics…. its not racism its just the statistical truth. Deal with it. Middle Eastern Men 18-30 that are single are much more likely to be a terrorist.

By that logic, we should just assume that white women are pornstars. Statistical truth.

common prejudices or common sense? GMAB

Statistically speaking, very few Middle Eastern men are terrorist.

Ignoring that and still using your phrasing, depending on the country (ie: America) caucasian males make up a more of the terrorist demographic and are more destructive.

And lastly, how did the security guards know the middle eastern garbed men were not married?

Well, grab your camera and do the same in their country and see what happens.

Proof of those statistics, NOW. It’s a disgrace that people even liked your post. This is racism, there’s no dancing around it. You know what the statistics say about terrorism in Europe? 0,34 percent of the acts of terror in Europe between 2006-2009 were made by islamic fundamentalists. The vast majority of the acts of terror were carried out by separtists. So there you go with your racist statistics. You’re wrong, you’re racist and you are feeding the racist machine that is killing our world and keeping the stupid “war on terrorism” alive. (Which in turn is killing civilians)

What kind of logic is that? Let’s assume your argument is true: why does it matter? This is Germany, not “their country”. And what the hell is “their country”? In this case, the man claimed to be from Saudi Arabia, I don’t know if you watched the video, but there was only one man. So there is no “their country” in this case.

Oh, wait, you mean the muslim’s country? Because Islam is the biggest religion in the world and I can assure you that there are muslims everywhere, so there’s not really a single “muslim country” as you try to put it.

However, in the end, your argument is not only incredibly racist, it lacks any kind of ground to stand on. Has there been a study that supports it? If not, then why are you spreading this type of racism?

According to the official FBI database, only 6% of terrorist attacks on U.S. soil from 1980 to 2005 can be attributed to Muslims
