A teenager in New South Wales, Australia recently captured some drone footage that's somehow both benign and unsettling. While flying his DJI Spark over the beach, he spotted what appears to be a Great White Shark moseying by a pair of unsuspecting swimmers.
Chimacabres come out at night. They are around during the day too of course, but the night is when they really thrive. In the dark, it’s harder to tell if you’re face to face with a fellow person or if it’s a chimacabre in front of you, and they don’t even have faces.
Croatian photographer Ino Zeljaks has created an interesting series, titled Metamorfoza. The series consists of a multitude of portrait compositions, each seemingly usual at first, until you look a bit closer. Upon looking closer, you’ll realize that each individual portrait is made up of an amalgamation of portraits of different individuals, ever-so-cleverly pieced together.
The video above is equal parts mind-blowing and unsettling. Created by filmmaker Anthony Cerniello with help from a couple of animators and a photographer, it's a timelapse-like animation that captures the process of aging in a way we've never seen before.
If the book Frankenstein were written about the subject of photography, then French photographer Grégoire Cheneau would be Victor Frankenstein and his Altered States portraits would be Frankenstein's monster(s). Upon first glance, many of the portraits seem to be harshly-lit shots of ordinary -- albeit strange looking -- people. Upon closer inspection, however, you start noticing that there's something off about them.
