Sometimes though, I want the look of the GFX 100 and when you get it right with this camera it is 100% worth what I paid for it.

Joking aside, and aside from all those lost years shooting video with moire and aliasing on Nikon cameras, the D750 is actually a surprise. It’s just that a lot of the innovation is hidden from view.
As a filmmaker who likes complete control and to shoot without complicated rigging or large crews I find the Panasonic GH4 perfect for my needs. If you consider the upgrade path beyond to the GH4 things get much more expensive.
The lack of video features and 4K will put DSLRs at a very significant disadvantage on performance relative to the best mirrorless cameras this year.
Seen in this light, the camera is a worthy competitor to the Sony A7R. Video performance is better overall, and that stabiliser is indispensable.
This camera has so much promise and I love using it but video quality is mixed.
I’m a big believer in the end result (the image) being what counts. Though I was always happy to work around the shortcomings of DSLRs at $1000, to be working around them at $12,000 seems obscene.
Resolution is better on the D5200 as well, with more fine detail after you bring it out in post.
Canon have produced a decent lens here for the price. It does make your Canon DSLR more stealthy like a mirrorless camera.
The 5D Mark III is still a great camera but it just hasn’t really moved on from 4 years ago and that is unacceptable.
The G1 X is a camera that, aside from AF speed, gets the fundamentals incredibly right but the peripheral details pretty hideously wrong.
