- PetaPixel 8.5/10
The Sigma 100-400mm is not a bright lens by any stretch and there is some compromise there, yet it provides some excellent sharpness and good overall optical performance without breaking the bank, or the arms.

The Sigma 100-400mm f/5-6.3 DG DN OS Contemporary is a subtle improvement over the older DSLR version - both optically as well as mechanically.

The Sigma 100-400mm F5-6.3 DG DN OS is a perfect example of the role that Sigma can and should play in the Fuji marketplace – a quality mid-tier option that offers 90% of the first party lens at a much cheaper price.

If you're looking for a lightweight, small 100-400mm for your wildlife, for your sports, for your moonscapes, and your cityscapes, take a look at the Sigma 100-400mm f/5-6.3 DG DN OS Contemporary. I think it's a pretty good option.

I can’t quite recommend it to most users, but I can’t truly discourage anyone from getting it either. It does have merits, but it does come with some, for me at least, pretty unfortunate flaws.

I think this is a great addition from Sigma to the XF mount lineup of lenses. I think it's a fantastic addition as a super telephoto lens in that ecosystem.
