Should you buy it? No, unless you’re into gaming and aren’t as interested in the broader camera system.
- Android Authority 8/10
The POCO X5 Pro fixes the most glaring weaknesses of its predecessor but otherwise sticks to a relatively successful formula. While POCO still needs to up its software game, the POCO X5 Pro is a reasonably well-rounded budget phone that ticks loads of boxes for the price.
-
The phone is a decent recommendation in spite of the outdated software as it has a good overall value; at the end of the day, that is the X5 Pro's biggest differentiator.
-
[T]here isn't much to complain about here, and if you're looking for a feature-packed mid-ranger, the Xiaomi X5 Pro deserves a recommendation.
-
The Poco X5 Pro doesn't deviate much from the established formula - there aren't major upgrades, though there are enough improvements across the board to make you want to switch to the new model.
-
The Snapdragon 778G offers a good performance and gaming performance compared to the Snapdragon 695 in the predecessor.
-
So guys, this is the Poco X5 Pro 5G smartphone and I definitely feel this smartphone has aged well. In fact, the performance of the smartphone has improved with the updates.
-
That's exactly what Poco has managed to do with the X5 Pro. By skimping a little on design and build, it's managed to make a phone that - in many ways - acts like a more expensive device.
-
The Poco X5 Pro 5G is another well-balanced mid-range effort from the Xiaomi sub-brand, with an excellent AMOLED display, a tidy design, and reassuringly steady performance. It doesn’t provide quite the same sense of outstanding value as last year’s Poco X4 Pro, however.
-
Far from perfect, but perfectly good at certain things, the Poco X5 Pro 5G is a welcome refinement to the line.
-
[T]his ticks a lot of boxes and gives you a lot more power than what you would get from a OnePlus Nord or a Motorola device, for example, and definitely better than the equivalent Samsung device too.
-
Those looking for a super-value smartphone would be correct to look to Xiaomi’s Poco range and the X5 Pro is another good example.
-
The Poco X5 Pro gets a lot of things right. It has a great multimedia experience thanks to its large and dynamic display, loudspeakers and powerful chipset.
-
To sum it up, my experience with the X5 Pro has been nothing short of fantastic; I certainly have no complaints about it and I find it an easy recommendation for anyone who's just looking for a reliable and affordable phone without all the bells and whistles.
-
There is a lot on offer in the POCO X5 Pro and I’m more than happy to recommend it. It’s a worthy upgrade over its predecessor to be sure.
-
All right, so overall on scale of one to ten, I'm giving the Poco X5 and the X5 Pro a major go.
-
I would say that if you are in the market today looking for a brand new mid-range smartphone, you should definitely check out the POCO X5 Pro.
-
The Poco X5 Pro 5G manages to deliver an excellent multimedia experience, respectable performance, and adequate battery life. With Dolby Atmos and Dolby Vision support it’s a good device for consuming content.
-
The embargo is up for us here at least in Singapore, and I gotta tell you this is a very, very impressive phone, especially for the price point.
- Digit 7.2/10
The POCO X5 Pro 5G is a mobile gamer’s dream. It performs incredibly well with smooth gameplay and minimal heat at Very High game settings with relative ease courtesy of the Snapdragon 778G 5G processor.
-
It’s a powerful device that gets the job done.
-
It is made for people who are looking for a mid-range phone that is an all-around performer. The POCO X5 Pro 5G is a jack of all trades, having a powerful processor, a great display, and a capable set of cameras.
-
Xiaomi did well balancing the POCO X5 Pro as a mid-range device but with flagship performance. In fact, we think this may be the year mid-range phones are getting to that level.
-
At these prices you will struggle to find a comparable brand-new phone with such quality of build and clout under the hood.
-
The POCO X5 Pro 5G is more of an all-rounder, everything on the phone is just as good for this budget.
-
108 megapixel main camera, 67 watt fast charging, and I think that's an excellent package to get; really can't think of anything to complain.
-
Now according to me, the cameras are quite average of this device and it is very similar to Redmi Note 12 Pro.
-
The Poco X5 Pro is a good overall performer with a battery life worth mentioning. The Poco X5 Pro is not a cheap phone and it fares well in almost all areas except for low-light photography and runs Android 12 out of the box in 2023, which is a major bummer.
