- PetaPixel 4/10
The ZS99 is an excellent picture taker because of its telephoto reach, and its main strength is the versatility it offers while still fitting in a pocket.

If you want a long-zoom compact that will fit in your pocket, then this is a great option. It’s a shame there’s no upgrade compared to its predecessor though.
-
[I]t's a point-and-shoot with a point in the right direction [...]
-
[I]t's great to see the venerable TZ-series still continuing in Pansonic's Lumix range.
-
I think it’s a fun camera to use, I like that it’s small enough to slip into a pocket, and I enjoy its quality for both stills and video, at least under good lighting conditions.
-

The Lumix ZS99 / TZ99 is a 30x optical zoom camera that's capable of taking some good shots, but not in every situation. With the same versatile lens, small sensor and decent screen as its long-in-the-tooth predecessor, there's also no real upgrade here either.
-
The Lumix ZS99 performs well as a point and shoot camera but has issues in lowlight and backlit scenarios, and for a compact camera sitting around the $500 mark I expected more.
-
The Panasonic DC-ZS99 can be used for street photography, being it so discreet, perfect for travel, it's so light to carry around, and for general life events with its wide zoom range, built-in flash, and ease of use.
