Reviewer Consensus

Exceptional

The DJI Mavic 3 Classic provides the same high-quality Four Thirds Hasselblad sensor and flight performance as the original Mavic 3 but at a more accessible price point. While it omits the secondary telephoto lens and specific pro-level codecs, it remains a top-tier choice for photographers seeking consistent, professional-grade imagery in a foldable form factor.

[T]he Mavic 3 Classic is the perfect drone for both aspiring and professional photographers and videographers.

As much as I like the DJI Mavic 3, the DJI Mavic 3 Classic would be my pick of the two drones. I don’t really have a need for the 162mm camera and the 24mm camera does a great job for stills and video.

Nearly a year from the original’s launch the Mavic 3 Classic remains a fantastic aircraft, more so, in a way, because all the features promised at launch are now here, and (nearly) live up to expectations.

  • TechRadar

The DJI Mavic 3 Classic does away with the telephoto camera found on the original Mavic 3 models to deliver a more cost-effective option while again delivering excellent image quality.

The DJI Mavic 3 Classic is a less expensive version of the DJI Mavic 3, but the company has removed the 28x digital zoom and a few other pro features to drop its price by $500.

[T]he Mavic 3 Classic is the same fantastic Drone as the Mavic 3; a year may have passed, but there is still nothing to fault, and I’m not missing the addition of that zoom lens.

[I]f you have the budget and you would like to enjoy the best image quality in a medium size foldable drone, the Mavic 3 Classic is a no-brainer.

The DJI Mavic 3 is a brilliant drone and the more expensive Cine version is a winner for serious filmmakers who can stomach its price, but for many aerial photographers and videographers, the DJI Mavic 3 Classic makes a better choice.

So the Mavic 3 Classic is the perfect middle ground for people looking to upgrade to I would say, one beast of a camera, which still has all the cool features and all the cool automated modes that the Mavic 3 has.

[T]his is an excellent drone. In terms of the image quality, like the Mavic 3, I think it's probably the best image quality for video and stills that you can get on a consumer-level drone at the moment.

So I think this is a perfect way of picking a really good, pretty much hero drone with all the same features of the Mavic 3, just without that tele camera. So I'm really impressed with this, and the price point's better.

Now I bought the DJI Mavic 3 Classic myself, and I think it's a really good addition to the Mini 3 Pro, and now with the C1 label, it's just as easy to fly the DJI Mavic 3 Classic as it is to fly the Mini 3 Pro.

This feels like the real successor to the Mavic 2 Pro, and it's at a good price too. Nice big sensor, all these features for a manageable price, really [...] is [...] worth the jump at this point.
