With less than a months' notice, 360° camera maker Panono announced that it will begin charging for its required stitching service. The company will soon begin charging 0.79 Euro (~$0.88) for every 360° photo you choose to stitch, leaving customers with no free or offline alternative.
The German start-up behind the Panono panoramic ball camera has filed for insolvency proceedings in Berlin, making it very unlikely that backers of their $1.25 million Indiegogo campaign will ever get their hands on their camera.
"Here, boy! Go fetch the camera! Good dog!" Such conversations could become commonplace as panoramic camera balls threaten to become the next offbeat photography meme. Squito appeared on the scene in July, Bubl Technology is already well on its way to producing the Bublcam, and now comes the Panono, which launched its Indiegogo fundraising campaign today.
