Sirui’s New $79 Folding Tripod Has Four Very Different Configurations

A Sirui tripod and ball head are shown on the left, while on the right, a hand holds a camera rig equipped with the same ball head and a Sirui lens.

Sirui has unveiled the TC50 + BH-19, a new compact camera support system designed for photographers, videographers, and content creators.

The TC50 + BH-19 is four different support modes in one. The TC50 itself is a small, folding tabletop tripod. In tabletop mode, it has two height settings of about 85 millimeters (3.3 inches) and 127 millimeters (about five inches), so it’s not a very tall tripod. Sometimes that’s exactly what someone needs, though. It can be difficult to get a traditional tripod that low, especially in tight quarters.

However, beyond this tabletop setup, it can also be turned into a handheld grip, which can be useful for holding a camera at low angles for video applications, provided the user has a camera cage with a top mounting point.

Speaking of video, two of the TC50’s legs include mounting points, so users can set up in tabletop mode and attach accessories directly to the tripod legs, like lights or mics.

The largest of the three legs, which doubles as the handheld grip, also has a couple of tricks up its sleeve. It has a built-in adjustable clamp, enabling users to attach it directly to a table or other mount point. The clamp accommodates flat surfaces up to 50 millimeters (1.96 inches) thick. It also has a flip-out hook so that users can hang their camera off a suitable surface.

“In hanging-hook mode, the folding design provides an additional mounting option for compatible supports, helping creators explore alternative shooting positions in suitable environments,” Sirui says.

Two side-by-side images show a versatile camera mount attached to a chain-link fence and a vehicle headlight, holding different cameras in various positions.

The BH-19 ballhead has a 19mm ball diameter and a 22mm base. It supports tilt adjustment of +/- 90° and has a maximum load capacity of three kilograms (6.6 pounds).

“From tabletop photography and product shooting to vlogging, outdoor content creation, and other situations requiring flexible camera placement, the Sirui TC50 + BH-19 offers a practical support solution in a compact form,” the manufacturer promises.

Sirui says the folding tripod design, adjustable ball head, and multiple mounting options make the new support system a practical, versatile choice for a wide range of creators.
