Magnum’s ‘Fact/Fiction’ Square Print Sale Lets You Buy Signed Prints From Famous Photographers

Magnum has announced its newest Square Print Sale, celebrating the best photos that explore the sometimes very fine line between fact and fiction.

The Fact/Fiction Square Print Sale starts tomorrow, October 26, and runs until November 1, giving photography fans and collectors a short window to get their hands on new prints. As usual, the sale includes photos from Magnum photographers working today and estates of late photographers, including acclaimed and influential photographer Martin Parr, who passed away last December. Speaking of Parr, his iconic “Common Sense” photo series is being exhibited again right now at the Bristol Photo Festival for the first time in nearly three decades.

The sale will feature works by many other famous photographers, including Chris Killip, Bruce Davidson, Susan Meiselas, and Ian Berry. Newer photographers will also seek to make their mark, like Sakir Kahder and Salih Basheer.

This new Fact/Fiction Magnum Square Print Sale also debuts a new size. Historically, the sale offers customers a chance to buy 6×6-inch prints. This time, participating photographers and estates were invited to offer their work in a new, larger 9×9-inch size. In both cases, the prints are still signed by the creator or stamped by an estate. Over 70 different photos will be available.

“We are delighted to be showcasing so many limited-edition prints for this upcoming sale by Magnum photographers, including Martin Parr, Susan Meiselas, Ian Berry and Chris Killip, alongside newer faces capturing the world around us today such as Sakir Kahder and Salih Basheer. For the first time ever, participating artists were invited to offer square prints in 9×9” in addition to the standard 6×6” size. This is an exciting development allowing those purchasing a print to add a special, larger work to their collections,” Magnum says.

“The Square Print Sale is one of the most special and creative moments in the Magnum calendar, and this will continue as we approach our 80th year of Magnum in 2027. What began as an experiment for the photography community has, over the past decade, grown into a biannual creative collaboration, bringing together Magnum photographers, staff and partners in a celebration of image-making cherished by photographers and our print buyers. An added element will be our exhibition in New York at the Leica Gallery, where guests can view the works and celebrate the sale with friends, peers and the wider industry.”

The Magnum Square Print Sale Fact/Fiction starts on October 26 at 9 AM ET (6 AM PT) and will be available here. 6×6″ prints start at $110.
