Ted Lasso star Hannah Waddingham has made headlines for calling out a photographer who apparently asked her to show leg as she posed for pictures at an event.

The incident took place on the red carpet before Waddingham — who stars as Rebecca Welton in the hit television series Ted Lasso — hosted the Olivier Awards at the Royal Albert Hall in London, U.K., on Sunday night.

‘Don’t Say ‘Show Me Leg”

In a viral video posted on X (formerly known as Twitter), the Emmy-winning actress is seen posing for pictures in a lilac-beaded one-shoulder maxi dress with a semi-sheer skirt before the theater awards ceremony.

However, as she poses for pictures, Waddingham stops to address a photographer who apparently made a demand at her.

The request cannot be heard in the video posted on X, but Waddingham is captured mid-rebuke at the photographer who supposedly requested her to show leg.

“Oh my god, you’d never say that to a man, my friend,” Waddingham tells the photographer in the video.

“Don’t be a d*ck, otherwise I’ll move off. Don’t say, ‘Show me leg.’ No.”

The crowd is heard cheering following Waddingham’s reprimand of the photographer. As they applaud her, the actress shakes her head and walks off the stone steps.

In the footage, Waddingham walks up to the photographer and continues to exchange words with him as she moves away, raising her finger.

Waddingham walks off the red carpet before turning around and gesturing with her fingers at the photographer saying: “Have some manners”.

The video, which was posted on X this weekend, has amassed over 2.2 million views since it was shared online.

Many fans praised the Ted Lasso star for calling out the photographer and suggested the incident was evidence of ongoing sexism in the media. Some fans even attempted to name and shame the man who is believed to be a prominent celebrity photographer in the U.K.
