The Incredible Winning Images of a Black and White Photo Competition

The reFocus Awards have announced the winners of its 2023 Black and White Photo Contest with striking images entered from 77 countries.

The monochrome competition is split into professional and non-professional categories. The overall professional winner was Bill Pack for his “CarScapes” series turning classic vehicles into sensual objects with clever lighting and composition.

Meanwhile, an everyday journey made by a shepherd in Turkey captured by Serkan Dogus took home the top prize in the non-professional category.

Chironomus plumosus mosquito is a mosquito that does not bite, its mouthparts are very reduced and, in addition, it does not feed either. This family is widely distributed in the world. The awards are in their second year and categories include abstract, aerial, film/analog, and people. The professional contest winner takes home $2,500 in cash prize and the non-professional wins $1,500.
