The ‘World’s First AI Photographer’ Undercuts Real Photographers
An artificial intelligence (AI) photo company promises to “cut out the need for expensive photographers” by providing a cost-effective way to generate all manner of images for the user.
Photo AI is dubbing itself the “world’s first AI photographer” allowing users to upload 30 or more photos of themselves or someone else to train the program. Once that is completed, users can type in a text prompt that will generate any type of image they want to see of the model.
Photo AI says its Synthetic Photo Studio tool can be used to create hundreds of images from the comfort of the user’s home.
“Photo AI is the first AI Photographer and Synthetic Photo Studio in the world,” says Photo AI’s creator Pieter Levels.
“The idea is that it costs less money and time to do photo shoots virtually than it does in real life. You save money in hiring and traveling with the model, equipment, and photo shoot team to the shoot location.”

Levels gives specific saving examples of AI versus a real photographer.
“If you do pay for a photographer yourself, it could cost you $250-1,500 per shoot which gives you 75-100 photos,” he explains.
“With the Pro plan you get 1,000 photos per month, so about 10 regular photo shoots, which means $2,500 to $15,000 if it was a real photo shoot. So about 100x to 500x cheaper than booking a real photographer.”
The company says it can be used for passport-style photos, headshots, and even to create maternity images.
“What about trying on clothes you’re not sure will suit you without having to visit a hundred clothing stores? Now you can with Photo AI,” the company writes in its press release.
“It also might be useful if you just want to generate nice photos of yourself for your social media if you’re an influencer or if you want to spice up your Tinder profile. The tool isn’t just for professional use, but for the entire public to enjoy,” adds Levels.
The pro plan costs $29 per month allowing users to generate 1,000 AI photos, the premium plan costs $99 per month and allows for 5,000 generations, and finally, the business plan costs $299 per month giving the user 25,000 AI photos.
