A photographer has shared tips on how to keep babies’ faces hidden this Christmas for parents who want to share festive photos without revealing their children’s identity.

Jennifer Lorin responded to a comment on her TikTok channel which reads: “Can you do one for people that don’t show their babies’ faces? I don’t show my boys’ faces online and have no good ideas for Christmas pics.”

@mrs_jlo18 Replying to @sierrahigby0 A much requested video! Thank you for requesting it. It helped get my creative juices flowing. In the video, Lorin is seen shooting photos of her little baby as he’s turned toward a Christmas tree. In another, a Santa hat is pulled down so as to obscure the little one’s face.

Other techniques include showing off the baby’s holiday bodysuit, or a cute one where the baby boy is holding up a Christmas bauble and thus hiding a chunk of his face.

“A much requested video,” writes Lorin. “Thank you for requesting it. It helped get my creative juices flowing.”

Not all parents are comfortable with posting photos online that clearly show their little ones’ faces. However, that doesn’t mean that they don’t want to share precious moments and milestones.

“I love the shot from behind looking at the tree — I feel like that is pure ‘the wonder of Christmas,’” one user wrote.

“Oh my god yes yes yes. No face photos need to be more common with kids,” another person commented.

Lorin, a self-described “first-time mama, photographer, and small business owner,” regularly shares baby photo tips which she appears to largely shoot on her smartphone and then edits with presets.

One of her videos showing her taking photos of her newborn son in a “first Christmas” top has racked up two million views.
