Apple Announces MacOS Ventura with Stage Manager Organization Tool

Apple has revealed a new version of macOS named Ventura that includes a new Stage Manager organization tool.

The new utility will automatically organize open apps on the side of the screen while centering the one that is actively being worked on, allowing users to more easily focus on the task at hand.

The current window that users are working in is displayed prominently in the center, and other open windows appear on the left-hand side so they can quickly and easily switch between tasks.

Users can also group windows together when working on specific tasks or projects that require different apps.

Updates to Safari and other macOS Apps and Features

Internet browser Safari has gotten shared Tab Groups that friends, family, and colleagues can share their favorite websites on.

Users will be able to see what tabs others are looking at in real-time and can build a list of bookmarks on a shared Start Page.

Mail has also had updates with “undo send” now allowing users to quickly cancel an email within a given time frame. Schedule send and follow-up suggestions have also been inserted into Apple’s email app.

The search feature in Mail has also had an upgrade with users being able to quickly find what they’re looking for as soon as they start typing.

Also on Ventura is updates to Spotlight which allows users to find images in their photo library, and even find text inside an image.

The quick look mode on Spotlight will enable users to “peek at a result” and it can also start an action such as running a timer. It also leverages a full window to look at the results better.

“macOS Ventura includes powerful features and new innovations that help make the Mac experience even better. New tools like Stage Manager make focusing on tasks and moving between apps and windows easier and faster than ever, and Continuity Camera brings new videoconferencing features to any Mac, including Desk View, Studio Light, and more,” says Craig Federighi, Apple’s senior vice president of Software Engineering.

“With helpful new features in Messages, state-of-the-art search technologies in Mail, and an updated design for Spotlight, Ventura has so much to offer and enriches many of the ways customers use their Macs.”
