Nikon COOLPIX W150 is a Waterproof Durable Camera Perfect for Kids
Looking for a digital camera to help a child fall in love with photography? Nikon has announced the new COOLPIX W150, an ultra-durable and waterproof camera that you may want to look into.
The camera features a 13.2-megapixel sensor and a 3x optical NIKKOR lens. It can also record Full HD video with stereo sound.
A helpful feature in the camera is Target Finding AF, which detects and focuses on primary subjects. Scene modes, editing features, and effects are also built into the camera for capturing optimal snapshots on-the-go.
For example, when doing underwater photography, the camera can automatically apply special processing for underwater photos and detect/capture human faces. There’s also an editing feature that corrects the blue cast commonly seen in underwater photos to provide you with clearer shots.
Even the user interface is designed for simplicity and ease-of-use.
“The graphical user interface (GUI) has also been modified to make it easier for first-time users to navigate,” Nikon says. “Camera operations can also be customized by selecting the design of the menu screen based on five options, as well as a [Variety menu] feature that can be disabled to limit the availability of selected camera functions.”
A built-in “Little Planet” editing function lets you quickly turn real-world scenes into tiny planets.
Compatibility with SnapBridge means the camera is able to have photos automatically downloaded to a phone or table for organizing, editing, and sharing.
The Nikon COOLPIX W150 will be available in Blue, White, Orange, Flower, and Resort. Pricing and availability have yet to be announced.
