Snapchat ran its first TV commercial this past weekend. As you can see in the 60-second video above, the company is trying to sell itself to a wider audience as “A New Kind of Camera.”
AdWeek reports that the ad will be airing on TV over the next two months, and represents a major effort by Snapchat to break beyond the 25-and-under demographic that it currently dominates (but is largely confined to).
“It’s a camera for talking, because a Snap says more than a text,” the ad says. “Snapchat is a camera where how you feel matters more than how you look.”
