Boyfriends of Instagram: Candid Shots Show the Reality Behind Perfect IG Pics
Behind every perfect inspirational travel photo and candid “girls night out” shot is an amateur boyfriend Instagram photographer. He’s always there, sometimes contorted into strange and awkward positions to get the shot, but rarely acknowledged… until now.
A new Facebook page and Instagram account called Boyfriends of Instagram is seeking to give these men the photo credits they deserve, and maybe give you a laugh along the way. The page is packed full of candid shots that show the reality behind those perfect Instagram snaps: guys balancing on the edge of hot tubs, crawling along the dirty pavement, and much more.
Here are a few of our favorites that have been posted to the page so far:
Admittedly, some of the shots on the page are just standard “I’m posing for a photo with my mom/friends/sisters” photos all tourists take. But the intensely manufactured moments like the guy on the hot tub or the “candid” girls night out photo make the less impressive ones totally worth it.
