This Vest Lets Your Dog Take and Post Photos to Facebook All by Itself

No matter how lucrative it might be, maintaining your pets social media accounts can be a lot of work. But what if your puppy could shoot and share their own photos, without your help? With this vest from Pedigree, they can.

No it’s not a late April Fools’ joke (we thought it was too at first), it’s an actual thing. It’s called the “Posting Tail,” and it was created by Pedigree Spain in association with advertising firm Saatchi & Saatchi.

As you can see in the video above, it works by using a tail sensor and Raspberry Pi processor to sense when your dog is particularly happy, snap a photo, and post it to Facebook all in one fell swoop.

Using the Raspberry Pi, the vest can supposedly tell how happy your dog is and only snap a photo when they’re truly wagging their tail in happiness, and not just a “normal wag.” And in addition to the photo, it also captured GPS data, so you can see what places make your dog the happiest. As ridiculous gadgets go, this one is actually pretty intriguing.

The Posting Tail is not available to the general public, but you can go to Pedigree.es and register to win a week-long “trial” with the vest.
