In case you didn’t know, there’s an Apple event going on right now, and although hardware (new iPads and such) is the focus, it began with some iOS 8.1 news that’s relevant to iPhone photographers.

CEO Tim Cook started off the presentation by showing off the newest update to iOS 8, which will arrive on Monday and bring with it the much-missed Camera Roll that iOS 8 did away with for no apparent reason at all.

The update also coincides with the public beta launch of iCloud Photo Library, which will allow you to store your iPhoto library online through Apple’s iCloud service. Just be ready to pay, because the iCloud pricing scheme doesn’t change. 5GB is free, but anything beyond that will cost you.
