Beautifully-Crafted Crystal SLRs Will Catch the Light, They Just Can’t Capture It

If you wanna show off your photo nerdiness in the classiest way possible (without buying a $25K limited edition Leica, that is) we might have just the thing for you. Created by Fotodiox, these crystal cameras — available in the shape of a Nikon D90 or a Canon 7D — are sure to class up any photographer’s bookshelf or den.

On the off-chance you’re thinking it, we’ll clear it up right away: no, these cannot take any sort of pictures and are in no way functional. They’re sold as bookends and paper weights, and as far as what they’re functionally good for that’s about it.

But functionality isn’t why we love the look of these. They’re just… so… classy. Beautifully crafted with intricate details etched on the dials and lens, the crystal cameras are dangerously close to making it into our shopping cart.

Here’s a closer look at the D90 version (the photos of the 7D are kind of dinky, but you can see those here):

Either of these crystal cameras — which, by the way, are 2/3 the size of the actual cameras and manufactured from premium-grade K9 crystal… in case quality is a concern — will set you back $90.

It’s up to you whether or not they’re worth the investment, but if you’d like to learn more or possibly pick one up for yourself, click here.
