Photographer Marc Hauser Doles Out Sage Advice on Defining Your Style

“If you can’t do it right, do it big.” These are just a few of the wise words shared by renowned photographer Marc Hauser in the above mini documentary by Chris Cascarano.

He’s shot for the likes of Rolling Stones Magazine, Pepsi and Playboy (just to name a few) and the concise words of wisdom he shares in this video are worth writing down no matter where you are in your photography career.

Unlike many tutorials and BTS videos, the advice that Hauser offers has nothing to do with technique, gear, or lighting. Instead, he speaks on loving your work and being confident in doing what you want to do; on finding your niche, or in Hauser’s words, “gimmick,” to stand out from the ever-growing crowd.

The video is a very quick watch, but don’t let its brevity fool you. The lack of length does nothing to take away from the quality of the advice he shares, or the man doing the sharing.
