A Time-Lapse of President Obama with Photos from the Past Four Years

For his project, Chicago-based artist Jeremy Tubbs collected random news photographs of Barack Obama captured between January 1, 2008 and December 31, 2012, aligned them, and then turned them into the above time-lapse video. The 2,500+ photographs were scraped from various online sources and are arranged in chronological order.

Tubbs also did the same thing with photos of President Bush using photos shot between February 2006 and August 2008.

You can find an archive of the still photographs over on (via Laughing Squid)

I couldn’t sit through the whole thing, and I don’t think I am missing much. You can see they have put the eyes in the same place and cropped so that the head is roughly the same size, but the changing background is more than distracting, and the radical changes in lighting don’t really let you see him aging or anything. Pretty weird project.

That was a mess, couldn’t watch it all. I totally agree with Antoine.
