    He’s only taking pictures of crap to put on a website… it’s not like he needs a massive amount of megapixels…

    Because he could probably use a Coolpix camera (or even an iphone) and get essentially the same pictures of most of this stuff. No need for 23MP, 5 FPS, and superior ISO performance in a well-lit studio shooting (mostly) nonmoving objects.
